Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the TheBeanGeek platform operated by Softygon s.r.o., a company registered in Slovakia (“we,” “us,” or “Softygon”). By accessing or using the TheBeanGeek service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. About The Service

TheBeanGeek is a specialty coffee directory that allows users to discover coffee, roasteries, and access ratings. Premium subscribers gain unlimited search capabilities, access to ratings, and the ability to submit their own ratings.

2. Accounts and Subscriptions

  1. 1. Account Registration: To access TheBeanGeek, users must log in through a third-party service provider (Clerk). By registering, you agree to provide accurate and updated information as required.
  2. 2. Subscription and Auto-Renewal: Premium subscriptions are billed on a monthly basis and automatically renew unless canceled. Payments are processed through Stripe.
  3. 3. Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time. Your access to premium features will end at the conclusion of the current billing period. Refunds are not provided.
  4. 4. Access Control: Your account is for personal use only. Sharing account credentials is prohibited.

3. Prohibited Use of Data

Users are strictly prohibited from:

  1. 1. Copying, scraping, or extracting data from TheBeanGeek for any purpose.
  2. 2. Reproducing, redistributing, or commercializing data without explicit written permission.

Violation of these terms may result in suspension of access and legal action.

4. User Content

If you submit coffee ratings or reviews:

  1. 1. You represent that the content is accurate, lawful, and does not infringe on third-party rights.
  2. 2. By submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and modify your contributions within the service.

We reserve the right to moderate, edit, or remove user content at our sole discretion.

5. Data Collection and Privacy

We collect and process user data through third-party services PostHog (analytics and tracking), Clerk (user management), and Stripe (payments). Our Privacy Policy explains how your data is handled.

6. Service Availability

We provide the service “as is” and “as available.” While we strive to provide uninterrupted access, we do not guarantee that TheBeanGeek will be error-free, available at all times, or meet your expectations.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  1. 1. Softygon is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of data or business interruptions.
  2. 2. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, regarding the availability, accuracy, or reliability of TheBeanGeek.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by Slovak law. Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of Slovakia.

9. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Updates will be communicated via the platform, and your continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
