TheBeanGeek is made for discovery, users can search and filter by origin, roast, process, taste, or even shipping country, and click through to the roaster’s website. BeanBook doesn’t offer search or discovery. You add coffees manually (or via scanning) that you already have.

BeanBook offers a detailed log where users can enter things like grinder settings, elevation, price, bag size, and their own tasting notes. TheBeanGeek keeps the logging simple, users rate the coffee, select brew method and location, and add their own notes.
TheBeanGeek offers suggestions based on the coffees you’ve rated and what you’ve liked. BeanBook doesn’t include a recommendation feature. It focuses on reviewing what you’ve already logged.
