The aroma was sweet and pastry like but perhaps a bit generic initially. Nice fruity presence. As the coffee cooled, big floral notes and loads of sweetness came forth. Jasmine perhaps. There was a nice juicy stone fruit quality too. Subtle berry notes appeared later. Blackberry perhaps. As the coffee approached room temperature, the sweetness really intensified and took on a sugary, almost candy-like quality. The flavor profile was similar to the nose and nearly as impressive. Nice elegant stone fruit presence on the front end. Red berry notes were also quite apparent. Cranberry and raspberry perhaps. Possibly some tart red currant too. Floral notes appeared as the coffee moved along the palate. More sugary sweet, juicy stone fruits too. Peach and nectarine came to mind. Sweet-tart lemony notes appeared in the center. Lemonade-like perhaps. Excellent crisp acidity. Some darker berries were detectable as the coffee moved along the palate. There was a hint of savory-ness as well. Nice combo of sweet and tart citrus and berry notes on the back end. The finish was moderately tannic and drying and very tea like. Lemon tea perhaps. Overall, exceptional sweetness in both the aroma and the flavor. Outstanding acidity in both as well. Nice creamy, juicy, medium bodied mouthfeel. This is a really impressive Gesha that was fantastic after a month of rest but really peaked at the two month mark. Be sure to give these beans plenty of time to demonstrate their truly exceptional complexity.
